2024 Taiwan Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit Creating New Opportunities for Smart Cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand

The 8th Taiwan Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit, held in Taipei on August 20, 2024, ushers in a new era of smart industries
The 2024 8th Taiwan Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit took place on August 20 at the ILLUME Hotel in Taipei. Co-hosted by the Taiwan Industrial Association and the Federation of Thai Industries, and organized in collaboration with the Food Industry Research and Development Institute (FIRDI) of Taiwan and the National Food Institute (NFI) of Thailand , the summit gathered over 200 industry representatives from Taiwan and Thailand for in-person participation. Mr.Chi-Chia Hsieh,Chairman of Thailand Affairs Committee, CNFI ,and Mr.Kriengkrai Thiennukul,Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries,delivered speeches in the opening ceremony.Mr.Chih-Ching Yang, Director General of Industrial Development Administration,Ministry of Economic Affairs,and Mr. Narong Boonsatheanwong,Representative of the Thailand Trade and Economic Office (Taipei),also gave speeches,encouraging both sides to usher in a new era of smart industrial cooperation.
Since the inaugural Taiwan Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit in 2017, which focused on the exchange and cooperation in the fields of food biotechnology, textiles, smart cities, and automation industries, 48 MOUs have been signed, facilitating numerous business connections between Taiwan and Thailand. This year, the 8th Taiwan Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit centered on four major areas:Smart Health, ICT Smart Technology, Smart Cities, and Smart Vehicles, resulting in the signing of four new MOUs.These include the collaboration between Grape King Bio Ltd. and the National Food Institute (NFI) of Thailand to integrate research and technological capabilities, opening up new opportunities in the health food industry between Taiwan and Thailand. Another partnership between Quark Biosciences Taiwan, Food Industry Research and Development Institute (FIRDI), and Thailand's National Center For Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, National Science and Technology Development Agency (BIOTEC) focuses on developing a microbial detection chip for gut microbiota, expanding the precision gut health food and related services market. FIRDI and NFI are also working together to facilitate market and regulatory exchanges in the health food industry, accelerating Taiwanese businesses' entry into Southeast Asian markets. Additionally, JGB Smart Property Co. Ltd is collaborating with Thailand's Max Realty Global Co., Ltd. to use Taiwan's integrated ICT services for automating real estate construction and brokerage in Thailand, thereby promoting Taiwanese technological capabilities on the international stage.
In his speech at the summit, Director-General Yang Chih-Ching of the Industrial Development Bureau noted that Thailand is actively investing in the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) industries, while Taiwan is also vigorously promoting low-carbon transformation policies. He emphasized that the 8th Taiwan Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit will create more new opportunities for industrial cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand, building on the foundation of net-zero sustainability.
