Hosted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), the 2021 International Smart Medical Forum took place in Hall 2 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center on October 14. BOFT Deputy Director G.J. Lee said: The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) attach great importance to the future development of digital healthcare, telehealth and precision medicine. We will strive to make smart medical and healthcare in Taiwan have the best development. Taiwan's economy is especially based on foreign trade, and only by promoting successful models and sharing our experience overseas in the ICT and medical industries could we strengthen Taiwan's economic growth.

The Smart Medical Forum theme was that of Tech x Healthcare Amplify Future Precision Medicine. It brought together representatives of major technology firms such as Vice President Brian Chong of Wistron Medical Technology Corporation, CVP and CTO Dr. Tai-Yi Huang of ASUS, Senior Business Development Manager Bryan Chu of Amazon Web Services Taiwan Ltd. and the medical expert Superintendent Ming-Shiang Wu of National Taiwan University Hospital in one meeting room to showcase their observations on medical trends from various perspectives.

The event organizer also live-streamed the forum to provide a global audience first hand industry information and a better understanding of Taiwan's smart medical industry.
