According to the statistics, 2,030 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$11,560,978,000 were approved from January to October 2022. This indicates a decrease of 8.97% in the number of cases, but a increase of 119.36% in FDI amount compared to the same period of 2021.
   With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 39 cases were approved with an amount of US$21,283,000 from January to October 2022. This indicates a increase of 21.88% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 48.47% in the FDI amount compared to the same period of 2021. From July 2009 to October 2022, 1,549 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$2,548,809,000.
   In terms of Taiwan’s outbound investment (excluding Mainland China), 448 projects were registered from January to October 2022 with a total amount of US$8,330,924,000, indicating an increase of 32.94% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 11.58% in the amount, as compared to the same period of 2021.

   As for Taiwan’s outward investment to Mainland China, 296 applications have been approved from January to October 2022, indicating a decrease of 15.19% compared to the same period of 2021. The approved investment amount is US$4,163,532,000, 3.20% less than the same period in 2021.
