Taiwan and India Hold Economic Consultations to Deepen Partnership

Deputy Minister Chen and Secretary Singh attended the 2nd Taiwan-India CEO Roundtable on October 26
Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India led a delegation of more than 50 members, including government officials, representatives of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and business leaders to Taiwan on October 24 for a 4-day visit.

The most important itinerary for Secretary Singh was to attend the Deputy Minister-Secretary Level Economic Consultations between India and Taiwan co-chaired by Deputy Minister Chern-Chyi "C.C." Chen of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and Secretary Singh on October 27. They fully discussed issues concerning the global economy, investment deployments, resilient supply chains, SMEs, as well as determined the direction for deeper cooperation in the future.

The meeting was fruitful as both sides agreed to strengthen supply chain cooperation regarding the electronics manufacturing industry, which already has a good niche, and the textile, footwear, chemical, machinery, AI, and other industries with great potential.

Both sides also agreed to strengthen the implementation of MOUs on IPR, Innovation, Traditional Medicine, etc., while hastening the signing of MOUs on Fintech and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) for mutual benefits and win-win results.

Moreover, Deputy Minister Chen and Secretary Singh attended the 2nd Taiwan-India CEO Roundtable on October 26 and witnessed business leaders jointly sign a statement to strengthen cooperation in the areas of electronic manufacturing and smart solutions.
