2021 Light Up Future Forum Shows the Way for the Lighting Industry

On December 22, the 2021 Light Up Future Forum held its opening ceremony in Hall 2 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) Deputy Director G.J. Lee delivered the opening remarks.

The world is in the midst of energy transition, many countries are developing smarter lighting technologies, and the Taiwan government will continue to assist domestic firms seek out global green business opportunities, he said. The 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) recently ended with the agreement that carbon emissions should be reduced to zero by 2050. The lighting industry should therefore seek to reduce carbon footprints.

The Light Up Future Forum theme was that of meeting the requirements of smart lighting and grasping new opportunities for industrial transformation. It brought together representatives of major lighting technology firms in one venue to showcase their observations on smart lighting trends. They discussed perspectives on hot topic issues such having new technology replace the traditional lighting industry.

The event organizer also uploaded the forum video to the Taiwan Trade Shows Youtube site. This enabled the public to gain the latest information on the latest trends in Taiwan smart lighting industry.
