Forging Connections Workshop Held to Enhance Ties with Partner Nations
With the aim of enhancing Taiwan's long-term bilateral ties with partner nations, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) held the third annual Forging Connections Workshop from Oct. 16 to 29, 2024.
Economic and trade officials from 11 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa took part in the training program to gain a better understanding of Taiwan's economic, trade and industrial development, as well as discuss important international political and economic trends.
The program also included field trips to the Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City, TSMC Museum of Innovation, and Taiwan Space Agency, enabling participants to witness firsthand Taiwan's technological achievements in a range of cutting-edge sectors. The field trips also provided them with the opportunity to establish connections with relevant organizations, laying the groundwork for future bilateral economic cooperation. In addition, the workshop participants had two full free weekends to explore various corners of Taiwan on their own and experience the local culture.
A symposium and closing ceremony for the workshop was held on Oct. 29, with top officials from the program participants' national representative offices in Taiwan taking part. TITA Secretary General Amelia W.J. Day presided over the event, during which participants gave positive feedback on the training program and their stay in Taiwan.
The MOEA plans to continue organizing the workshop annually to build on the positive outcomes that have been achieved in the program's first three years.
