On September 17, 2026, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Ho Chin-tsang attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Taiwan Expo in Manila, Philippines and highlighted the growing bilateral economic ties. Under the theme "Together, Building the Future," the expo focused on smart technology, smart manufacturing, energy transition, and smart healthcare. In addition, the inaugural Taiwan-Japan-Philippines Industrial Cooperation Forum was convened to further trilateral collaboration on green energy and smart cities.
